Geogrids are made of polyester (PET) fibers, while geocomposites consist in a geogrid fixed on a nonwoven textile. As both geogrids and geocomposites are heat resistant, they can be installed at temperatures up to 190 °C.

They are used when reinforcing road longitudinal spaces in superwidening, as well as in reinforcing road bituminous strata, to avoid reflective cracking and rutting.

Advantages:
- increased durability and long term use of bituminous strata;
- better traffic conditions of bituminous covers.
